COMPOSITION:

Polyvinyl pyrrolidone Iodine …… 10 gr.

Excipient at pH=5 …….. Q S F ..100 ml.

PODOVIDONE Dermal Solution is an aqueous Solution at pH=5 of polyvidone - iodine complex easily dissociable and able to liberate, when necessary, non - ionized iodine which is strongly antiseptic The bactericidal and fungicidal activities of the iodine are intact and longer lasting.

POVIDONE acts on Pathogenic agents:

Pyocyaneus ,Staphylococci, Proteus, E. Coli, Colibacilli , Psedomonas, Clostridium, Paracolon Trichomonas , Candida Albicans Even under the most unfavorable conditions in the presence of blood, pus, serum of necrotic tissue,

PODOVIDONE retains its bactericidal activity

PODOVIDONE is stable

INDICATIONS:

Dermatology: Bacterial Dermatitis, Boils, Folliculitis Impetigo, Papulo - pustular acne, contogious eczema, Fungal Dermatitis, Erythrismal, Circinate herpes due to trichophyton rub rum, Athletes foot onychomycosis, pityriasis versicolor, Tinea capitis , Anal or vulva pruritis.

SURGERY:

- Antisepsis of wounds and bums

- Antisepsis of the operative zone.

- Antisepsis of the area of venous puncture, hypodermic injections and transfusions by applying undiluted solution through dabbing or swabbing.

MODE OF USE AND DOSAGE:

- Disinfection of nail – brushes:

PODOVIDONE dermal solution diluted at 10% .

- Disinfection of healthy skin before injecting and puncture

PODOVIDONE deraml solution undiluted on cotton wool swab

- Disinfection of healthy skin before surgical Intervention

PODOVIDONE dermal solution undiluted on cotton wool swab 

- Disinfection of soiled skin (Grease Tar).

Antiseptic with organic solvent ( Ether + Podovidon dermal solution pure)

- Disinfection of damaged skin and traumatic wounds:

1- PODOVIDONE scrub foaming solution diluted (1 volume of Podovidon to 3 volume of water ) if immersion is possible.

2- Podovidon dermal solution undiluted.

BURNS:

Preliminary cleansing Podovidon scrub solution undiluted on a swab Swabbing (do not wipe of) Podovidon dermal solution undiluted on a swab.

BATHING OF BURNS:

povidone dermal solution diluted (1 volume Podovidon to 3 volume of sterile water).

WASHING OF PERITONEUM:

1- During a septic intervention Podovidon dermal solution diluted at 1/10 th in the physiological serum (1 volume of Podovidon per 9 volume of serum) at 37°C for 2 minute.

2- During a serious peritonitis Podovidon dermal solution diluted 1/100 th to 2/100 th in sterile water or in physiological serum, or with peritoneum dialysis liquid: debit 1 Liter / Hour. 

- obstetric focus irrigation of an infected surgical wounds:

Podovidon dermal solution diluted al 2% in the physiological serum.

- disinfection of equipment and thermometers through permanent soaking:

Podovidon derma solution diluted al 1/50 th.

CONTRA INDICATIONS:

- Allergic to iodine

Do not use soaps, solutions or ointments containing mercurial derivatives, at the same time as Podovidon.

PRECAUTION OF USE:

Podovidon should not be used in new - boms and infanls ( children less than 30 months) in repealed extensive or continued applications.

If such a use would be necessary. it be wise to remove the excess antiseptic by using 60g alcohol or sterile water

Podovidon can be removed from the skin by simply washing with water
